Home Learning

Information for lessons and work can be accessed by looking on the subjects section on the left. The work will, in most cases,  also have been shared on your assignments on FROG, so please keep checking. Year 10 & 11 students also have their revision guides, which they can use for their work.

Good working routines and accessing work during the school closure

This information is to support all of our students keeping themselves in good weekday routines and working practices as much as possible during the time of school closure.

This is particularly important during school closure in ‘term time’. Routines may obviously change during the actual Easter break and May half term if schools have not reopened by that point.

Working from home is difficult so you need to find a routine that works for you, just do as much as you feel you can, if you don’t get everything finished please don’t worry.

You could follow the  example of a typical day:

7:00 – 7:30

Wake up as usual (possible slight lie in for you as you are not travelling to school)

7:30 – 8:00

Up, shower and dressed

8:00 – 8:30

8:45 – 9:35

Study session 1

9:35 – 10:25

Study session 2

10:25 – 10:40

Break. Have a snack, drink, walk around the house/garden

10:40 – 11:30

Study session 3

11:30 – 12:20

Study session 4

12:20 – 1:00

Lunch. Take a proper break. Walk the dog, watch TV, listen to music, play games etc.

1:00 – 1:50

Study session 5

1:50 – 2:40

Study session 6

Try to get each session to mirror your actual timetable e.g. session 1 on Monday you should study for whatever subject you have. Students would be expected to work for the same period of time each day as if they were in school e.g. 5 and a half hours.

Once the ‘school day’ is over you would take another break.

You could then follow a ‘homework’ plan if you would like. Timings could change for different students. It could look something like this. These could be more interest based:

3:30 – 4:15

Homework session 1

4:15 – 5:00

Tea or evening meal

5:00 – 5:45

Homework session 2

5:45 onwards

Rest and relaxation time

A ‘reasonable hour’

Go to bed. Keep your school bedtime routines during ‘term time’. Only go to bed later in ‘holiday time’.
